Lactation Support

Elliot Hospital has a top-quality lactation program. International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) are available daily, and are experienced maternal-child health RNs who have furthered their education in breast feeding. The Lactation Consultants support a woman's decision to breastfeed and also assist families in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. They can provide up-to-date information on collecting and storing breast milk as well as assist transitioning infants to direct breast-feeding. In addition, they are available for follow-up phone consultation and outpatient visits.
